Alvechurch have made a good start to life at Step 3 football, with two draws from their opening games so far. A disciplined display in their opener against Royston Town was followed up by an excellence performance against Tamworth. Kieran Cook's first goal for the club, followed by a Matthew Sargeant save earned Ian Long's men the point; as they matched the league favourites and showed they are a match for anyone in the league. Coalville meanwhile have had a mixed start to the season. Recently transferred to the new Premier Central Division (from the Northern Premier Division), they suffered an opening day loss to Leiston before conceding a 95th minute equaliser to drop two points to Rushall Olympic on Tuesday. Nevertheless though, Alvechurch now how tough Coalville can be; with the Leicestershire side defeating Church 5-1 in the FA trophy last season.
