Alvechurch were once again made to rue missed chances as they suffered a second consecutive loss to Nuneaton Borough.
Just as they did on Tuesday, Church made the worse possible start conceding within the first five minutes as Luke Benbow taped home Callum Powell's cross. Darren Byfield's side however, then dominated the rest of the half controlling possession and creating a number of chances.
Debutant Courtney Richards fired just wide from range, while Ben Usher-Shipway saw a shot saved by Jordan Wright and Javia Roberts had a goal bound shot deflected wide of the post. Jordan Goddard then showed good feet to get into the box but fired wide off the goal before Nuneaton doubled their lead just before the break.
Benbow did well to turn two Church players in the box and squared the ball to Mitchell Candlin who finished well. Church started the second half quickly however, with Usher-Shipway finding Roberts to score his first league goal of the season. Llyod Ransome then denied Powell and Benbow, while Roberts and Kevin Monterio forced saves from Wright.
Usher-Shipway then struck the crossbar before Nuneaton sealed the points. A free-kick was knocked down to Ryan Edmunds who on the half-volley found the net superbly. Byfield's side kept going however and when Wright fumbled Goddard's free-kick Richards was on hand to get a second. Despite lots of pushing Church were unable to force the equaliser; meaning another frustrating day at the office.
