Following a planning meeting held at Bromsgrove District Council on 9 April, the committee voted unanimously 11-0 in favour of approving planning permission for the construction of 25 houses on Lye Meadow site.
Although no plans have yet been made as to when this work will commence, chairman Richard Thorndike called an EGM to discuss a proposal to ground share next season.
After a frank discussion weighing up the pros and cons of ground sharing next season, it was voted unanimously in favour to reject the proposal and to remain at Lye Meadow for one final season.
It was agreed that much work is needed to help improve the ground to a standard that will help improve players, staff, committee and supporters match day experience, but obviously weighing up the cost v benefit of making costly changes.
We want to give Lye Meadow the send off it deserves, so are looking to everyone to help us achieve this and make Lye Meadow the best it can be for what will be our final season.
Hopefully the move to the Hayes is now on the planning horizon, so let’s all pull together to make our last season one to remember, both on and off the pitch.
