HEREFORD FRIENDLY ANNOUNCED...

Paul Hasker10 Jun - 23:46

Alvechurch to take on Vanarama National League North opposition.

The Club can confirm that we will take on Vanarama National League North Hereford Football Club. This fixture will become pre-season friendly number six of the summer as we continue our build-up to the 2025/2026 Southern League Premier Central season, providing a tough test for Tim Flowers' men but to also continue to work on implementing his style of play.

Familiar faces set to face off in this one too. We'll start with Alvechurch as Neil Reeves (GK Coach) and newly appointed assistant manager Shaun Edwards are in for reunions with their former employers. Reeves spent a period as the Bulls' goalkeeper coach before leaving in 2023 to take up the role as GK coach with us. In Neil's exit, in came Shaun, to take over the role at Hereford. Flashforward two years, and the pair will now work for the Worcestershire based club against their former club at the end of July.

Dale Eve, Bermuda Captain and Alvechurch goalkeeper, also had a stint with the Herefordshire based club whilst Neil Reeves was there. The pair joined Alvechurch in the summer of 2023 reuniting under former manager Ian Long. The duo will face off against Hereford for the first time since their exits from the club.

For Hereford, it will see the return of attacker Omari Sterling-James to Lye Meadow Stadium, when he prepares to travel with his team-mates. Sterling-James signed for The Church last summer, made 23 appearances in his time, scoring 2 goals, one on the opening day of the 2024/2025 season with a stunning free-kick before netting a winner against Evesham United to send us into the Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter-finals.

The forward then departed for at-the-time fellow Vanarama National League North side Rushall Olympic Football Club, hoping to contribute to their fight against relegation, his time at the Pics was a short one leaving after two months of action, and joined Hereford in March in their final push for the play-offs, unfortunately falling just short of the mark. Now, Omari is back at Hereford and set for an immediate return to Lye Meadow.

Alvechurch are set to host the Bulls on Tuesday 29th July 2025, with kick-off taking place at 19:45pm at Lye Meadow Stadium (B48 7RS). This will be our penultimate home and friendly of the summer.
