The Club are thrilled to announce the arrival of vastly experienced Shaun Edwards, who takes on the assistant manager role at Alvechurch FC and will work closely alongside first-team manager Tim Flowers. Shaun join us from Vanarama National League North outfit Hereford Football Club, in which he has worked as the goalkeeper coach for the last two years.
Edwards brings with him a wealth of experience. He enjoyed a playing career until injury curtailed his continuality. His previous clubs included; Solihull Borough, Highgate United, Studley Football Club, Bromsgrove Sporting, Alvechurch Football Club and Pershore Town.
When injury came upon him, he took the route of coaching. As previously mentioned, he has worked at Hereford for the last two years taking on the goalkeeping coach role after current Alvechurch goalkeeper coach Neil Reeves departed to come to Worcestershire. His other previous coaching role saw him take on the assistant manager role at Coton Green Football Club.
Shaun had this to say about his move to Lye Meadow, "Absolutely buzzing to be here and working closely with Tim and the group of players. All focus now turns to a successful upcoming campaign. Up The Church!"
Now, we look forward to seeing what Shaun can bring to Tim Flowers' backroom staff, which includes Steve Hensel, Dan Hines (Sports Therapist), and Neil Reeves (GK Coach) ahead of the beginning of the 2025/2026 season.
Welcome to Alvechurch, Shaun Edwards.
