Josh March's second half goal earned Alvechurch a draw, and extended their unbeaten run to six games, against Hitchin Town.
The home side had taken the lead thanks to a brilliant Charlie Smith goal, but March's clever finish in the second half gave Ian Long's side a deserved lead.
The first half was full of plenty of chances, with Kyle Morrison having his header tipped over by Michael Johnson, before Smith opened the scoring. With a free-kick on the edge of the box, the midfielder superbly curled the ball into the bottom corner past Matthew Sargeant in the Alvechurch goal.
This was the first goal Alvechurch had conceded in four games and they tried to hit back, with a quick counter attack leading to Kieran Cook firing wide; before March hit the bar with header. Hitchin also had chances of their own, with Jack Green and Charlie Thake forcing saves from Sargeant.
The second half started off the same as the first, with Morrison again being denied by Johnson in the Hitchin goal. Soon after though, Alvechurch equalised with March getting in-between the Hitchin defender and Johnson to slot the ball into the empty net. This led to Church pushing forward for a second, with Johnson on hand to save from Taylor Morrison; and then brilliantly tip Aaron Birch's point blank header over the bar; albeit the latter was offside.
Despite not getting the win, Alvechurch will be pleased with the point having gone behind to keep up their unbeaten run; and means a potential win over Stourbridge at Lye Meadow on Tuesday could move them into the play-off places.
