Alvechurch suffered their second home defeat in a row, as league leaders Kettering left Lye Meadow with all three points.
A brace from Rhys Hoeness and a Declan Towers header gave the visitors the three points; despite Danny O'Callaghan equalising for Church.
The game got off to the worse possible start for Alvechurch, as they were behind within in the first minute. Hoeness went down softly to a Jamie Willets challenge, but earned Kettering a penalty which he calmly slotted home.
Despite the early setback, Alvechurch responded well with Josh March firing over. They soon equalised when a mix up in the Kettering back-line saw the ball fall to O'Callaghan who found the bottom corner with a good finish. Church then pushed for a second with March being denied by Paul White, and Jamie Willets heading wide.
Despite this pressure though, it was Kettering who went into half-time in the lead scoring with the last kick off the half, through Towers.
The first chance of the second half fell to Church; with Tom Turton's 50 yard free-kick nearly catching out White, but Kettering soon extended their lead. A mix-up between Matthew Sargeant and Kyle Morrison allowed Hoeness to score his second goal of the game.
Despite this, Church never gave up with Dave Bellis and March going close but ultimately they couldn't get back into the game. They will be hoping to pick up their first win in four games when they take on Barwell next Saturday to begin, what manager Ian Long describes as, big month.
