Alvechurch produced arguably their best performance of the season to defeat play-off rivals Biggleswade Town and stretch their unbeaten run to seven games.
Jack Bradshaw's own goal and a Josh March strike secured the points for Ian Long's side who are now four points clear in the play-off places. Alvechurch started off strong with Jamie Willets heading wide from a Tom Turton corner and Mitch Botfield being denied by Sam Donkin.
Despite these missed chances Alvechurch continued to play great football throughout, with March firing over and Andre Landell heading wide of the post. Landell then tried his luck from 30 yards out with a great strike which went just wide of the post. Biggleswade responded with Soloman Nwaboukei firing over the bar before Alvechurch took the lead.
Taylor Morrison showed good control of the ball before finding his brother Kyle whose cross reached March, whose finish found the net via Bradshaw to give Alvechurch a half-time lead.
It was Biggleswade who created the first chance of the second half with Joe White heading against the crossbar, before Church doubled their lead; with their being no doubt about the goal belonging to March this time. Dave Bellis intercepted the ball and played a stunning pass to Landell, who produced another brilliant pass to find March who slotted the ball in.
This boosted Church who continued to play great stuff and Kyle Morrison and Botfield forced saves from Donkin. Morrison was then on hand to block Bradley Bell's goal bound shot, but then Biggleswade were given a lifeline. Substitute Aaron Llyod appeared to get the ball with a superb tackle but referee Gareth Davis pointed to the penalty spot.
White scored the spot-kick but it proved to be a consolation for the visitors as Alvechurch held on. They will be looking for another three points against another play-off rival when they take on Leiston next week.
