Alvechurch 5-0 Coalville Town

Alvechurch produced a clinical and brilliant performance to beat play-off rivals Coalville Town and leave them just two points away from securing a play-off place.

A Josh March brace, as well as goals from Jamie Willets, Tom Tonks, and James Roberts did the damage for Ian Long's side who scored five goals for the first time this season.

After a sloppy start, Church took the lead with their first shot on goal after eleven minutes. March miss-hit his initial volley, but saw the ball fall back to him to score at the second attempt. This lifted Church who pushed forward looking for a second. A good team move saw Tom Turton denied by Matthew Coton while Jamie Willets headed wide.

They did eventually get the second goal however. Roberts through ball found March who rounded Coton to slot the ball into the bottom corner. It got better for Church, when from a corner Kyle Morrison's flick found Willets who struck his fifth goal of the season.

Coalville came out strong in the second half with Andrew Wright and Joe Doyle-Charles forcing saves from Dan Crane. However, Doyle-Charles was then shown a straight red card for a tackle on Tonks; which led to Church continuing to dominate the game.
March and substitute Mitch Botfield were denied by Coton, before Tonks raced clear to slot home and secure the win.

Coalville looked for a consolation with Thomas McGlinchey showing good skill in the box before chipping the ball wide, and Wright being denied by Crane. Alvechurch did have chances of their own however, with Roberts forcing a save and Andre Landell being denied by the bar and Coton.

In stoppage time Roberts smashed home a brilliant finish to put the icing on the cake and set Alvechurch up nicely for Friday's game against Stourbridge.
