With a play-off place already in the bag, Church's minds were clearly on Wednesdays semi-final and events going on at Stourbridge where Kings Lynn's 2-1 win set up a semi-final between Stourbridge and Church.
Manager Ian Long's team selection also confirmed he was quire rightly, prioritising Wednesday's semi-final over this last league game.
Rested completely were Turton and March, while loan signing James Roberts and Dave Bellis were assigned to the bench, along with Josh Ezewele who was returning from injury after missing the previous 4 games.
Ryan Winwood returned to the side after being out on loan to Romulus.
The game itself was won by a single goal from Decarrey Sheriff following a free kick which wasn't cleared and scrambled into the net.
To be fair however, Needham Market, now unbeaten in the last 7 games, more than deserved their win and were guilty of missing some gilt edged chances, which could have made the score 3 or 4.
Roberts came on with 10 to go and livened Church up a little, but the game petered out with most Church fans paying more attention to their phones and what was going on at Stourbridge than the game here.
