Alvechurch held on to draw with Stourbridge at Lye Meadow and extend their unbeaten run to six games.
Church struggled for long periods against the visitors, but their back-line was superb and managed to hold out as they moved to within three points of the play-off places; as well as keeping their league record of not conceding at home yet in tact.
Manager Ian Long made four changes to the team which drew with Hitchin Town, with Zack Foster replacing the injured Josh Ezwele at right-back; and Theo Llewellyn, Aaron Llyod, and Luke Yates also being drafted in.
In a cagey first half it was Alvechurch who created the firs chance, with Taylor Morrison's superb low cross being inches away from reaching Llyod.
The visitors grew into the game though, with Leon Broadhurst going close after a strong run; and winger Chekaine Steel curling wide of the post from range, before hitting the post directly from a corner as the half ended.
Alvechurch were forced into a half-time sub due to an injury to Dave Bellis, but this did not change the game with Stourbridge still being on top. Callum Powell curled a free-kick wide, while Kaiman Anderson missed the target from close in.
The best chance of the game then fell to Aaron Hayden, but the defender's header hit the bar as Church survived again. The home side though did nearly punish Stourbridge for their missed chances, with Llyod forcing a save from James Wren; before substitute Kieran Cook fired wide with the last kick off the game.
Despite the performance, Alvechurch can take a lot from this game, still managing to keep a clean sheet and earn a good point. However, they will be looking for a better performance and result on Saturday when they take on Corby Town in the FA Cup.
